Types of thickeners: These thickeners are usually used in concentrators

Thickener,as a necessary dehydration equipment for concentrators,has experienced many years of development.At present,there are three types of thickeners on the market:ordinary thickener,high-efficiency thickener and inclined plate thickener.Among them,ordinary thickeners can be divided according to different transmission modes and the number of working faces.
This type of thickener is often used in concentrators
1.Ordinary thickener
The ordinary thickener is a traditional thickener,which is widely used in various election plants.The common thickener has simple structure,easy management and reliable production.The common thickener can be divided into central drive and peripheral drive according to different transmission modes.
Central drive thickener
Central-driven thickeners are mostly small and medium-sized.When the industrial site is compact and sufficient settlement area is required,in order to reduce the building area,save energy consumption and reduce the cost of infrastructure,the drive-type multi-layer thickener can be used.In recent years,some gold mine cyanidation plants in China have adopted two-layer and three-layer inclined washing and multi-layer thickeners.The structure of this multilayer thickener is the same as that of the drive multilayer thickener used for dehydration.The difference is that a set of detergent tank is installed next to the thickener and a set of detergent pipe is installed in the machine.
Peripheral drive thickener
The large thickener is of peripheral drive type.The advantages of peripheral drive thickener are:simple equipment,convenient operation and maintenance,and low power consumption.Its main disadvantages are large floor area and low processing capacity.
2.High-efficiency thickener
Compared with the ordinary thickener,the high-efficiency thickener is more efficient.The unique structural design makes the diameter of the high-efficiency thickener 1/3-1/2 of that of the ordinary thickener,and the floor area 1/9 of that of the ordinary thickener.1/4,but the processing capacity per unit area is dozens of times that of ordinary thickeners.At present,it has been widely used in many technologically advanced processing plants.In the future,it is possible to replace the ordinary thickener and occupy the leading position.
Structure of high-efficiency thickener
What are the unique features of the structural design of the high-efficiency thickener?Taking the highly efficient and improved thickener independently developed by our company as an example,the thickener has changed the traditional design of internal overflow weir into external overflow weir,increased the settlement area and is not easy to block materials.In addition,the improved treatment capacity is large,the overflow turbidity is low,and the discharge concentration is high.
3.Inclined plate thickener
The inclined plate thickener is a slurry gravity thickening equipment designed with inclined parallel plates in the settlement area.The inclined plate thickener is mainly used for clarification and concentration of flotation tailings,and can also be used in other industries to treat various pulp containing solid particles.
One disadvantage of inclined plate thickener is that the outlet is easily blocked.Many manufacturers suggest that inclined plate thickeners should not be selected for mineral processing operations with high product concentration requirements.The inclined plate thickener produced by our company has successfully solved this problem.A mixing device is installed in the center of the casing of the inclined plate thickener,and a vibrator is installed on the outer wall of the cone area.This innovative design not only speeds up the concentration of flocs,but also plays a role in preventing slurry plugging.
The above three thickeners are the most widely used in concentrators at present.The concentration of concentrate and the dewatering of tailings depend on them,so we should be more careful when selecting thickeners.
